(Icelandic, English Subtitle) A world-weary cop, Erlendur, attempts to link the recent murder of a reclusive deviant to the 1974 murder of a little girl, all the while struggling to cope with his heroin-addicted daughter. As Erlendur methodically chases down clues, he is forced to hack into the genetics database a thoroughly amoral pursuit in the homogenous Iceland.
