(Portuguese; English subtitles) The astonishing story of the legendary capoeira fighter Manuel Pereira, who would eventually become the icon Besouro. In 1920s Brazil, slavery has been abolished, but in the poor town of Bahia the plantations are still overseen by tyrannical men who hold the local population as slaves. When his capoeira master is murdered by the evil Col. Venancio, Besouro wages a one-man war against the might of the colonels army and even against death itself. This battle of the poor against the powerful will tear Brazil to its very soul and change the course of history forever.
